Aston Villa fans have been responding on Twitter to footage of Mbwana Samatta’s first goal as a Villa player.
This comes after the official Villa Twitter account shared a post on their page that included footage of Samatta’s consolation goal against Bournemouth in their 2-1 defeat on Saturday.
Have you been happy with Samatta's first appearances for Villa?
Yes, he looks good

No, not enough

The post also revealed that Samatta is the Premier League’s first-ever Tanzanian player and now the league’s first Tanzanian goal scorer.
This footage of Samatta’s goal then gathered a lot of replies from Villa fans who were eager to share their thoughts on the striker’s first goal for the club.
Here’s a sample of Villa fans responding to the post:
Yes Yes! A fox in the box is what Villa have needed for years. ? #AVFC

The striker, who is valued at 10.8 million (as per Transfermarkt), picked up his first goal for Villa in just his second appearance for the club since making the move to Villa Park in the January transfer window. Following the Tanzanian’s first goal, lots of Villa fans have been having their say on their new striker.
Not even a hint of celebration. Straight to get the ball and go for the W.
I like this guy.

What do we think?
It’s good to see these Villa fans upbeat and happy for Samatta to get his first goal for the club despite losing the match. It’s also good to see the fans recognise Samatta’s attitude straight after scoring his goal – instead of celebrating he went for the ball in an effort to get the game back on again and look to get a result in the match.
