Aston Villa fans have been expressing their anger on Twitter over the latest injury to striker Keinan Davis.
This comes after Villa fan Twitter account @villareport shared a post on their page revealing that Davis had picked up an injury playing for Villa’s U23 team in midweek.
Should Davis have been playing in the U23 match?
Yes
No
This was later confirmed by Villa journalist Ashley Preece who claimed that the injury Davis picked up was a hamstring injury on the same leg that kept the striker out of action for three months this season.
The post from the Villa fan page then gathered lots of replies from disgruntled Villa fans who didn’t take this news well.
Here’s a sample of unhappy Villa fans reacting to the post:
Why is he playing????

This is an absolute joke. He shouldn’t even be playing.

Should not be playing for under 23 bad management again

The striker picked up the injury starring in the Villa U23’s 1-0 defeat to their Birmingham rivals West Brom’s U23’s. After making his last Villa appearance for the senior squad in their 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth at the weekend, many Villa fans were shocked to hear that Davis had picked up yet another injury after just returning to the squad.
Why, oh why, oh why, has he been allowed/instructed to play. Louie Barry fc awaits

Get your boots on Baston lad, looks like you’re up with our Samatta. For real though, Big Wes and Samatta are gonna dominate when he’s back.

What do we think?
Given that Davis had made an appearance in Villa’s weekend game at Bournemouth, playing him in midweek probably wasn’t the best idea considering he has just come back from a lengthy spell out of the side. But now that Villa have signed Mbwana Samatta and Borja Baston, they should be able to cover the injured Davis in the centre-forward position.
