Aston Villa fans have been discussing winger Jota on Twitter and his future at Villa Park.
This comes after Villa news account @AVFC_News shared a post on their official Twitter page asking their followers what they have made of the Spaniard so far and whether or not he will have have a part to play for the club this season.
Has Jota been a flop for Villa?
Yes
No
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Villa fans who were quick to share their views on the winger.
Here’s a sample of Villa fans criticising Jota:
What are your thoughts on this man? Can he still have a say for Aston Villa this season? #avfc pic.twitter.com/ZVogvG2cGM

Sell him. Another poor acquisition by Smith.

The 28-year-old, who is currently valued at £4.05 million according to Transfermarkt, joined Villa in the previous summer transfer window from rivals Birmingham City. After making just eight Premier League appearances for Dean Smith’s side and providing just one assist in those appearances, many Villa fans have now taken the opportunity to share their criticisms of the winger.
If we get relegated, he’ll be key in the championship. I’m afraid that I think he looks too slow for the Premier League, I’m surprised though, I genuinely expected him to be pretty great for us.

What do we think?
It seems that from what little these Villa fans have seen from Jota, it hasn’t been enough to convince them he is good enough to perform for Villa on a consistent basis in the Premier League. Given that his Premier League appearances have earned him an average match rating of 6.29 according to WhoScored, it’s no wonder why so many Villa fans aren’t happy with him.
