Some Celtic fans have been discussing the latest Twitter post that club legend Chris Sutton put out recently.
Sutton was talking about the Champions League round-of-16 first-leg game between Chelsea and Bayern Munich, giving a specific mention to Bayern’s left-back Alphonso Davies following his performance against Frank Lampard’s side.
Is Alphonso Davies better than Jeremie Frimpong?
Of course he is
I reckon Frimpong is better
When Sutton tweeted out about Davies, many Celtic fans read it and asked their former player if Davies is as good as Jeremie Frimpong or former Celt Kieran Tierney. Here’s how the Hoops fanbase reacted:
A poor mans Jeremie Frimpong

Davies had started off the season playing on the left and right wing for Bayern. But since late October, the Canadian has established himself as a regular left-back for the Bavarian side. He has played every Bundesliga game for them since a 2-1 win over Union Berlin in October. He has come up with three assists and one goal in the league.
What do we think?
Comparing Frimpong and Davies may leave the promising Celtic full-back at a disadvantage given the Bayern defender’s prominence at a higher level of European football.
What can be compared though, is how they’ve burst onto the scene at their respective clubs this season. Frimpong joined Celtic from Manchester City this summer, while Davies could get only 74 minutes of first-team football in the Bundesliga last season.
