West Bromwich Albion remain at the top of the Championship despite being on a dreadful run that’s seen them fail to win in any of their last six matches.
Slaven Bilic’s side were beaten at home by Stoke City on Monday night but remain ahead of Leeds United by a point due to Marcelo Bielsa’s side also being on a poor run.
Indeed, a number of fans have called to see a lot more from their players after comments from Romaine Sawyers were posted on Twitter, with the midfielder, who is valued at £2.7 million (as per Transfermarkt), going on to claim: “We’re still motivated, hungry and focused on our games and not the results of the other teams around us.”
Can West Brom secure automatic promotion?
Yes
No
We’ve been hearing this since we lost to Middlesbrough, things need to change, playing pereira on the left is a waste, formation isn’t working, where’s plan B? It’s vital we get a left back and left winger abs and maybe a midfielder and striker, just to give us all a boost! #wba

That was until the Birmingham game. Since then it’s been lacklustre at best. We’re lucky Leeds have bottled it as well, Brentford and Fulham are right behind and they’ve got to fancy their chances. Need new faces sharpish

We need signings, our squad isn’t a top 2 squad, no pace. This will just keep getting worse without new signings

What do we think?
With Nottingham Forest, Brentford and Fulham all in fine-form, Bilic’s side are in danger of throwing away their automatic promotion spot unless they can turn their fortunes around and quickly.
The Baggies travel to Cardiff City next who currently occupy 13th place in the division. Although the club are yet to do any business in this month’s transfer window, the supporters are hopeful they will see some new arrivals before the month is over.
We cannot be sure whether they will manage to get any deals done but number one on the boss’ wish list right now must surely be three points and an end to this potentially damaging run of form.
