Sunderland Football Club is in desperate need of a mix-up in their team right now. Since Phil Parkinson’s arrival, the squad have only won four games. In those 17 games played, they have lost a whopping seven, drawing the rest. Granted, in their last five games the Black Cats have gone undefeated, but these results still will not be satisfying enough for fans. January is a time for the club to reinvest into the squad in a hope to make some improvements.
One player rumoured to be joining the club is Kyle Lafferty. According to the Scotsman, as cited by Roker Report, the striker met with the club at the Academy of Light to negotiate a deal. Fans had mixed feelings about this potential signing.
There were many supporters who thought he was not good enough for their club. They expect a lot more from their recruitment staff.

Let me guess, 2.5 year deal, turns out to be absolutely gash, can’t get rid of him even for free?

Have to start spending money rather than just going after FAs if we’re gonna push for playoffs or promotion

We need a strong and rapid forward. Surely this isn’t the solution

Would you be happy with the sining of Lafferty?
Yes
No
Other fans think they need to give the player a chance. They do not think it is fair to judge the striker before he even signs a deal. They will judge him when and if he plays for the team.
No confirmation or anything yet and already a lot of fans are already calling for the guys head. #embarrassing we’re a league 1 team who will attract league 1 standard players

He woupd probably do a job as a back up forward but we are needing a lad in who can hit the ground running and acore plenty to maintain this momentum we have at the moment. He wouldnt be a bad option if there’s anothee forward to comin with him and Grigg & McNulty are moved on.

Short term deal on s free and could chip in with a few goals seems a no brainer, certainly at this level. Big man at Wycombe keeps doing it

Let’s give him a chance before writing him off. We’re not on a position to spend.

What do we think?
Hopefully, for Sunderland fans, this signing can help them escape the league. If the signing does not pay off, however, owner Stewart Donald will surely hear about it from the fans.
