Sunderland are finally in the top six and will be hoping to remain in their playoff spot after they play Doncaster this evening. And while the Black Cats are ahead of Doncaster in the league, the Rovers are just four points behind Sunderland with a game in hand.
But luckily for Sunderland fans, they have history on their side. Doncaster fan account @D3D4Football shared a fact that stated Sunderland was the only side Doncaster have never taken points off of during league play, despite playing 122 opponents. In the two teams’ five meetings, Sunderland have come out on top five times. Despite hearing this brilliant news, Sunderland fans think they have now been jinxed.
Yeah cheers for that lads, 3-0 loss incoming.

Do you think Sunderland will make it six for six tonight?
Yes
No
Others are staying positive, however. One fan is convinced they will extend the record to six wins, while another thinks the record shows just how big of a club Sunderland really are.
Make that SIX IN A ROW!
We’re good at that! #SAFC #HawayTheLads— DanPatrick (@dpgroves6) January 22, 2020

What do we think?
If Sunderland does drop points, it won’t be because of voodoo. But Phil Parkinson’s decent run of form should provide his side with some confidence heading into this matchup. If history doesn’t repeat itself, he will have to answer to the fans.
