Some Southampton fans have reacted to the transfer news linking their midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg with a move to Everton in the ongoing January transfer window.
Sky Italia journalist Gianluca di Marzio has told Sky Sports UK (via the Daily Star) that the Toffees have made Hojbjerg their primary target in the ongoing January transfer window, with the Saints valuing the midfielder at around £35 million. The report goes onto state that the Toffees are hesitant about paying that price.
Has Hojbjerg has been Southampton's best player this season?
No question about it!
Third or fourth best
A Southampton-related page called SaintsNews&Views relayed this piece of news. And many Saints fans do not want the player to leave the club this month.
No way Ralph will want to let him go, especially this month. #saintsfc

Why would he want to go to a worse team?

So far this season, the 24-year-old Danish midfielder has made 23 appearances in the Premier League so far. He has also made three appearances in the League Cup. He has one assist to his name and that has come in the Premier League.
He was an important player for the club last season too. The former Bayern Munich player made 31 Premier League appearances, scoring four goals and also getting four assists on the way. He made two League Cup appearances as well.
Southampton had signed Hojbjerg in the summer of 2016 for a fee of £12.8 million. For the Bavarian club, the Dane had made 25 appearances in the first-team. He couldn’t score or assist even once.
What do we think?
As per WhoScored, the 24-year-old has a rating of 6.86 in the Premier League and that is the fourth-best rating in the whole Saints squad. It shows how important a player he is for the club and how they can’t make do without him. The club shouldn’t consider selling him.
