As we find ourselves getting through the first week of the January transfer window, rumours are beginning to intensify each day. One of the biggest rumours surrounding Rangers Football Club right now, perhaps, is the potential sale of Wes Foderingham to Middlesbrough with the Daily Mail claiming such a move back in December. Rangers’ backup goalkeeper is apparently looking for a move away in search of first-team football.
When True Blues Loyal posted the continued rumours, fans were okay to see Foderingham leave. They love the goalkeeper but understand that he deserves to be playing regularly. They think that a move to Middlesbrough would be the perfect opportunity for him to achieve first-team football. With six months left on his contract, the club has little choice but to oblige to his request. One fan admits that he wouldn’t be comfortable promoting Andy Firth to backup keeper though. He wants the club to buy someone new.
Good luck to the big man, too good to be sitting on a bench

Big Wes deserves first team football and if he goes to Boro I wish him all the very best.

Wish him every success did great for us but deserves first team football.

He to good to be sitting on the bench he needs to be playing

Too good to be a sub, week after week. My issue if he leaves is we then need to get someone in who is as good, no offence to Firth but haven’t seen enough of him.

Would you promote Andy Firth to second choice if Foderingham leaves?
Yes
No
Others fans admit that Foderingham has done little wrong in a Rangers shirt. They recognise that Allan McGregor has given Foderingham little opportunity to take his place.
Too good to be on the bench, but McGregor cannot be dropped due to his form and quality. Will be a shame to see him go but I think it is best for his career.

Will be Sad to See Him Go but Also doesn’t Deserve to be Sitting on the Bench for 88% of the Season.

Deserves his move. A good servant to our club and will always be welcomed regardless.

He’s a fantastic goalie. Must be tough sitting on the bench week in week out, knowing that McGregor ain’t ever going to lose his spot. Be good to see him move on and get game time.

What do we think?
If Foderingham does leave, it could be a perfect opportunity for the club to find a new number two in the transfer market. Time will tell before we find out if Steven Gerrard chooses to purchase someone new or promote Firth.
