Alfredo Morelos’ start to the season has been incredible. The striker has scored 28 goals in 35 games this season, also registering nine assists. To say he has been vital to his team’s success is a major understatement. The player with the second-highest goal tally at Rangers is Jermain Defoe, notching 16 in the first half of the season.
But recent reports suggest that Sevilla are lining up a bid for the Colombian this January. The Spanish side are looking for a replacement for Javier Hernandez, who left for LA Galaxy earlier in the week.
When @RangersCulture shared this news on Twitter, fans were quick to dismiss the rumours. They don’t think the Spanish outfit could possibly afford the player.
Non story, Gerrard wants him till end of season at least. Getting boring now with the attempts to unsettle him.

Sevilla won’t pay decent money for him… honestly can’t see a bid of more than £10 million…and that kind of money is of no use to us

Prepare all the like he isn’t going anywhere.

Continued run in the Europa, win the league. Champions league next year. Reckon that’s worth more than 30 million.

Do you think Sevilla could afford Morelos in January?
No
Yes
Others are convinced that retaining Morelos is vital to their title challenge. If he leaves, they don’t think they have a chance at winning the league.
No no no, no Morelos = No league title.

No way we can loose Alfie…he’s vital to 55

If it’s seriously silly money, you would have to consider it. But it would probably cost us any chance of the league, scottish cup & progressing in Europe.

Not having this they can do one!

What do we think?
Steven Gerrard has no obligation to sell the striker this January, with Morelos’ Rangers contract lasting until the summer of 2023. If he does leave, however, we expect the fee to be a sizable one.
