Rangers Culture shared the news that Jamie Murphy and Greg Docherty were both set to leave on loan during this transfer window. Docherty has scored three goals in his four UEFA Europa League appearances for the Gers this season, while Murphy has only managed to play 53 minutes of football. Murphy is set to leave for Burton Albion while Docherty is supposedly headed to Sunderland.
When the news was shared with the Rangers fans there were a few mixed reactions. For the most part, however, the supporters were glad to see the players being loaned out. They would much rather see their side retain the rights to the player while allowing them to gain valuable experience with other teams.
All the best to you both will be good to see you getting the game time you need

That’s good news. We still have them in the fold and they will deffo do a job for the gaffer when they return better and stronger for the experience.

Great moves for both.

Who will get more out of their loan deal?
Greg Docherty
Jamie Murphy
A few fans are a little concerned though. One fan thinks Murphy is better than Sheyi Ojo, and should therefore stay. Another thinks Docherty is too good for Sunderland and League One football, while one supporter wishes the players were being loaned out to other Scottish teams.
Been waiting ages to see Murphy back Ojo simply cannot be ahead of him

Why are they not going to Scottish teams?

What do we think?
Hopefully, the loans can have a positive impact on the players. And while Docherty, at the age of 23, is probably young enough to benefit from the loan, Murphy is already 30. The player’s future at Rangers could be up if he is still not being given a chance by Steven Gerrard.
