During Thursday’s press conference ahead of Rangers’ game against Stranraer, Steven Gerrard and George Edmundson spoke to the media.
When one reporter asked if they should read into the fact that Edmunson, who has only played eight games this season for the Gers, was present at the press conference, Gerrard had a simple answer. The answer was that he will be starting the game.
The Rangers Twitter confirmed this to be true by sharing a video of the clip, fans were thrilled. They are excited to see the 22-year-old play, claiming that he has hardly put a foot wrong in his previous outings for the club. They think he has done more than enough to earn a spot in Gerrard’s lineup.

Do you think Edmundson will be a regular starter by the end of the season?
Yes

What do we think?
This chance could be exactly what Edmundson needs to break into Gerrard’s starting lineup. The centre-back position at Rangers is a competitive one right now. Connor Goldson has played the most games out of anyone in the squad for Gerrard this season, with 36 appearances.
Filip Helander and Nikola Katic have 17 and 19 appearances between them respectively. It is clear that Goldson is Gerrard’s number one, with Helander and Katic steadily being rotated. Helander’s current injury could be a big reason for Edmundson’s involvement in this game.
