This weekend Rangers fell at the hand of Hearts in the Scottish Premiership. Throughout the game Rangers never quite looked like their usual selves, resulting in their fourth loss of the season. The result has a massive impact on their league position, dropping them five points behind first-place with a game in hand.
After the match, Steven Gerrard spoke to Rangers TV about the result. He admitted that his team deserved to lose on the day and that it was the first time in his 100 games that he hasn’t recognised his team. Fans reacted to a tweet of the interview and suggested that Gerrard looked just as upset as most Rangers fans. They think he is hurting inside.

Well said from the gaffer. I think his frustrations are reflected by all of us. The sad thing is that the warning signs were there v Stranraer and St.Mirren. Wfailed to heed them. We can not afford anymore slip-ups. Time to reshuffle the pack. Alfie is back. Polster in. Jones in.

Gaffer was spot on there honest and gutted you can feel his pain as much as I am in. Players let the team down bad game for a few. They’re the ones who need to take responsibility not the coaching staff. Roll on Wednesday and kick on from there and dig deep WATP

Was that the worst performance from a Rangers team under Steven Gerrard?
Yes
No
Others think he needs to have a good look at some of his players. In the supporters’ eyes, there are too many passengers.
He has to start by being honest with himself and start telling certain players the home truth. Win as a team, lose as a team WATP.

As always the watchword with SG is honesty. The performance was cringeworthy. However, he needs to realise that neither Ojo nor Barker coming off the bench is the answer. He will get this right. We need another midfielder and a forward urgently even if only on loan.

So another bottle job after the break after going into the break on a high, same for last couple of seasons, too many passengers on that team, not enough depth in squad when missing some big names, another kick in the teeth for the fans,

What do we think?
The loss means that Celtic must drop points before the end of the season if Rangers want to have a chance at winning the league. Luckily for the Gers, the next Old Firm of the season takes place at Ibrox. The winner of that match could very well be crowned the winner of the Scottish Premiership at the end of the season.
