Queens Park Rangers were condemned to their 13th Championship defeat of the season at the hands of Tony Mowbray’s Blackburn Rovers. Despite having equalised through Jordan Hugill after Adam Armstrong put the hosts in front, Mark Warburton’s side head back to London empty-handed.
Indeed, the Hoops rested players for their FA Cup tie with Sheffield Wednesday on Friday night, prioritising tonight’s fixture which has made the defeat even more frustrating to the fans who made the trip up to Lancashire.
Is Todd Kane good enough for QPR?
Yes
No
Todd Kane, who is valued at £900k (as per Transfermarkt), has received strong criticism following his display on the night via social media.
Todd Kane, think I’ve seen enough. Poor player at this level. #qpr

If Todd Kane was put on eBay for 99p buy it now he would still play for QPR next week

I’m not sure I’ve seen a worse full back in world football than Todd Kane.

Awful. Conceded two terrible goals. Todd Kane, not good enough.

Todd Kane should be dropped he is awful

And following the criticism, this supporter fears he could be made a scapegoat in the weeks and months to come.
Got a feeling Kane is going to be the new Scape goat now Scowen has gone. #QPR

What do we think?
According to WhoScored.com, the 26-year-old was not QPR’s worst player. He received a performance rating of 6.8/10 and so perhaps the aforementioned supporter has a point when expressing their concerns regarding fans picking on the player somewhat unfairly.
Warburton’s side have conceded 53 goals so far this season with only Barnsley and Luton Town have worse records – highlighting that the team’s defensive troubles are far bigger than just Todd Kane.
