Liverpool fans have been fuming on Twitter over recent comments made by former goalkeeper Simon Mignolet after criticising Roberto Firmino.
This comes after a couple of Liverpool fan Twitter accounts shared posts on their pages relaying some of the comments from the former Anfield man.
Was Mignolet right to criticise Firmino?

Indeed, they can be found in an article from the Liverpool Echo, with them originating from Het Laaste Nieuws.
Here’s what he had to say:
“Both Hans and Ruud are very good finishers,”
“Firmino and Mo [Salah] are of course incredible football players, but Firmino is not a born killer.”
“Hans and Ruud should certainly not be inferior to Bobby in terms of finishing.”
This then led to a number of Liverpool fans offering their thoughts on the former Red’s words.

The Belgian left the Merseyside club in the last summer transfer window to Club Brugge for a fee of £6.3 million (per TransferMarkt). It’s safe to say he didn’t enjoy the best of times at Anfield as he lost his place to Loris Karius and struggled to get back into the fold, with just two appearances to his name last season.
Now that he has claimed that former teammate Firmino is “not a born killer” in terms of finishing, these comments have not gone down well with some Liverpool fans on Twitter.

What do we think?
It’s fair enough that he wants to praise his current teammates, but he doesn’t need to criticise Firmino in the process. That’s only going to cause bad blood between the fans and himself.
