Southampton striker Che Adams is not for sale – that’s according to the Southern Daily Echo’s sports journalist Dan Sheldon. Leeds United are said to still be hopeful of landing the 23-year-old despite Ralph Hasenhuttl reiterating the fact he has no intentions of selling the player just a couple of days ago.
This is one of those transfer stories that started right at the beginning of the window and isn’t expected to cool until the deadline passes despite the players club being clear regarding their stance.
Sheldon has spoken of the growing sense of bemusement at St Mary’s and these Leeds supporters have taken to social media to make their feelings on the subject known.
Will Leeds United complete a deal for Che Adams this month?
Yes
No
If there’s such a growing sense of bemusement and they were so sure they wouldn’t let him go, why did it take them over a week to reject the request?

Everyone’s for sale, and personally amazed saints haven’t accepted that when it’s 5m profit in 6months for 4th choice non scoring forward and you see Haaland go for 17m

Why wouldn’t there be interest/pursuing. He’s not playing much at all, he’s open to the move, proven at the level we require and everyone has a price?

Dan, is there any chance the reason Leeds keep pursuing Adams, is because one of those Agent fellas, you know, the guys who run football and actually decide who goes where, is telling Leeds the required bid to make it happen and that Adams would jump at the chance.. just a guess.

One fan even stated that he wants the move big time, which perhaps came from a report that Phil Hay released back on the 13th of this month (January 2020), which stated that Che Adams is keen to take the move to Elland Road.
Because he wants the move. He wants the move big time

Probably because we’ve been told by his Agent he is keen on moving

What do we think?
For Leeds to continue pursuing the former Birmingham City striker, they must for whatever reason still believe that a deal is possible. The player is currently valued at £10.8m (as per Transfermarkt.co.uk) despite only starting 33% of Southampton’s Premier League games this season.
With Southampton seemingly safe now after an upturn in form over the last month or so, if a significant bid was to come in towards the end of the window, you would be forgiven for thinking they would consider it carefully given Adams is currently their second choice striker at best – with Danny Ings currently leading the line and firing on all cylinders.
