A lot of Leeds United fans are not happy with Kalvin Phillips’ quotes in the Yorkshire Evening Post as he discussed a potential England call-up.
Gareth Southgate watched the 24-year-old on Saturday, but he did not impress as the Whites were beaten 2-0 by Sheffield Wednesday at Elland Road.
Should Phillips receive an England call-up?
Yes, he deseves it
No, should focus on Leeds
Phillips, who is valued at £9.9m by Transfermarkt, claimed that he does not think about any international recognition, but it was his comments on the previous match, which irritated many Whites fans.
Phillips claimed that it was “No big deal” that they had lost to the Owls, and that has concerned many Leeds fans.
'I don't really think of owt like that.'
Kalvin Phillips on England.
Gareth Southgate, the man who can make it happen, showed up at Elland Road on Saturday to watch Leeds United v Sheffield Wednesday.https://t.co/4qtE8V6Zsr#lufc

I highly doubt that would have helped his chances especially the comment he made about it “not mattering” that we lost. That was the most concerning part for me

Other Whites supporters are unhappy with the 24-year-old’s recent performances.
Doubt that game done much for his chances, hopefully Southgate has seen the first 20 and not the last few

He’s been off the boil since he came back from suspension. When on his day, best player in the league without a doubt.

Been off the pace recently, hope he isnt believing into his hype too much.

Hasn’t put in a big performance for a while, been a massive gap between him, Dallas & Klich an we’re getting exposed from it, centre backs running half the pitch unchallenged. Need Prince Phillip to be in top form if we’re gonna go up

Marcelo Southgate… I think not, that’s the only way that donkey is getting a game for England

How did he play though

What do we think?
Many Premier League clubs have watched Phillips, and a few pundits believe that he is good enough to be playing regularly for the Three Lions.
The 24-year-old will probably be playing in the Premier League next season no matter what happens to Leeds, but he still must focus 100% on the task at hand.
