A lot of Leeds United fans are not happy with Marcelo Bielsa’s plan to play Ben White in the holding midfield role with Kalvin Phillips suspended.
The Whites face Millwall in a rearranged fixture tomorrow night, and the Argentine confirmed that White would replace Phillips.
Is this a wise decision from Bielsa?
Yes, White can fill in
No, better off leaving White in defence
This, however, has not gone down well with many Leeds supporters.
Kalvin Phillips suspended tomorrow. Bielsa confirms that Ben White will replace him in the central defensive mid role against Millwall. That will be the only change. #lufc

I agree with Aaron. Square peg in a round hole. I would’ve put shacks in

*sigh* If at first you don’t succeed, try again for the 8th time.

This is bad bad bad. Why not give one of our young midfielders a go, not one of our CBs, when we only have 2!!!

Nooooooo. Dallas should play there with Douglas left back.

Not keen on that. Didn’t work last time

So we’re playing with ten men again

I just dont get why you would move your best CB out of position just to fill another….so we are effectively weaker in two positions instead of just one

What do we think?
Bielsa tried to play White in the same position against Huddersfield Town in December, and though Leeds won, the 22-year-old struggled in the first half.
Other players could perform the Phillips role in Leeds’ squad, but it seems that Bielsa has decided that White, who is valued at £2.25m by Transfermarkt, is his man.
The Argentine also confirmed that new signing Jean-Kevin Augustin would not be involved against Gary Rowett’s men as he has only just arrived.
This news also annoyed some Leeds fans, but most were more concerned about the man on loan from Brighton replacing Phillips.
