Derby County pair Jason Knight and Morgan Whittaker have signed new long term contracts with the club. Both are products of the club’s academy and have agreed to new deals that will run until 2023.
Knight, a midfielder, has established himself as a first-team regular in recent weeks despite being just 18-years-old and Whittaker has been included in the matchday squads consistently of late.

What do we think?
Derby County may currently be sitting in 15th position in the Championship but the fans are wise enough to understand they are going through a rebuilding process, one that’s being overseen by the highly-experienced Philip Cocu.
Securing the futures of two of their brightest young stars is certainly a step in the right direction and a move that is likely to pay off in the longer term.
Whilst the fans are clearly happy with the news, it’ll be down to Knight and Whittaker to prove the club’s faithful that their delight is rewarded in the future.
