Some Celtic fans have been left in tears on reading Scott Sinclair’s latest tweet about the time he spent at Parkhead and all the accolades he won at the Glasgow-based side.

Sinclair has now joined Championship side Preston North End, after having left Celtic’s mid-season training session in Dubai on Tuesday to complete the move to Deepdale earlier this week.

Celtic fans: Has Sinclair's post left you emotional?

Recently, Sinclair put out a post on Twitter to thank what the club has given to him. He said that it was ‘an honour’ for him to wear the Celtic shirt and that the club’s fans ‘will be missed’ by the Englishman.

And many Hoops fans have been left emotional by his message and they made it clear.

Sinclair had joined the Hoops back in the summer of 2016 from Aston Villa when he had signed a four-year deal with the club. His deal was set to run out at the end of the current season.

This season, Sinclair had fallen out of favour at Parkhead. He made only seven appearances in all competitions for the club, making two Premiership outings. He scored two goals in the season, with one coming in the League Cup and the other coming in the UEFA Champions League qualifying stages.

The previous campaign was very different for the Englishman. He made 55 appearances in all competitions for the club, racking up a tally of 17 goals and picking up six goals as well.

Even in the 2017-18 season, Sinclair had impressed in front of goal. He made 55 appearances, scoring 18 times and assisting 17 times.

What do we think?

Hoops fans are right to be emotional about Sinclair’s exit. He was almost a club icon for how many goals he scored and how many assists he picked up during his three-and-a-half-year spell. His tally of 62 goals and 34 assists during this time shows the impact he had. The Hoops might just struggle to replace him.
