Some Celtic fans have been left heartbroken by the situation of Scott Sinclair, who looks close to leaving the club in the ongoing January transfer window.

BBC Sport have claimed that Sinclair is now in line for a move to Preston North End, having missed the club’s training session in Dubai this morning. This came in view of an impending move to Deepdale, with the player set to fly to England to hold talks with Alex Neil soon.

Celtic fans: Will you rue the loss of Sinclair?

This has left many Celtic fans heartbroken. They’ve taken to Twitter to express their sadness about the potential exit of the winger after seeing a tribute from Everything Celtic posted online.

Indeed, it’s safe to say he had a very impressive record, as stated by the fan down below, as he made 167 appearances in all competitions, scoring 62 times and has produced a total of 34 assists as well.

Sinclair had joined Celtic from Premier League side Aston Villa in the summer of 2016 and went on to become a key player under the tutelage of former player Brendan Rodgers.

This season, he has barely been used. He has made only seven appearances in all competitions so far. He has racked up two goals, with one coming in the League Cup and the other coming in the Champions League qualifying games. In the Premiership, Sinclair has made only two first-team appearances.

Things were very different before this season. Last term, Sinclair was a regular on the wing. He made 55 appearances in all competitions for the club, while scoring 17 times and racking up a total of six assists as well.

What do we think?

Sinclair has been a very reliable servant for the club in the three-and-a-half years that he has spent with them. Indeed, it’s hardly a surprise that fans are upset with his potential exit, considering how the number of times he played for Celtic was the highest appearances he ever made a first-team in his career. The parting might be a little cruel, but Celtic have to move on.
