Some Celtic fans have been left to rave about James Forrest following the club’s 3-0 win over St. Johnstone in the Premiership recently.

The Hoops kept their lead at the top of the Premiership to as many as five points. Forrest did score for the Hoops, while Leigh Griffiths and Olivier Ntcham also scored a goal each.

Is Forrest Celtic's best player?

He's not that good

When the Hoops Twitter account posted about Forrest’s goal, many Celtic were delighted about it. Some feel that the winger is proving many doubters wrong.

Forrest has been a regular in midfield for the Hoops so far this season. He has made 37 appearances in all competitions, scoring 15 times and racking up a total of 18 assists as well for them.

Last season, the Scotsman had made as many as 56 appearances for the Parkhead-based side. He racked up a tally of 18 goals and also got as many as 20 assists for the Hoops. In the Premiership, he contributed to 23 goals.

Forrest is a product of the Hoops’ youth academy and made his debut for the club back in the 2009-10 campaign. In total, he has played 385 games in all competitions for the club.

What do we think?

Forrest is human and considering how he’s started every game bar one this season, he hasn’t been helped by how much he has played. But now that he was rested for the game against Kilmarnock, he could be a vital player in what is left for the campaign.
