Some Celtic fans are making it very clear that they don’t want former midfielder Victor Wanyama to return to the club in the upcoming January transfer window.
With the January transfer window now set to open, the club has already been linked with a move for Victor Wanyama. And there’s a divide amongst Hoops fans about it.
Celtic fans: Is the midfield a priority for January?
Absolutely!
We have enough depth
Some of them are making it clear that they don’t want the player to return and he isn’t the solution to the problems.
Unless he is bringing a strategy and tactical game plan, then he isn’t the answer.

Not for me. Loved him first time but not sure we need midfielders. Centre Forward is the priority for me.

Too often #Celtic Fans look back at memories and not ahead. Need to clear out then bring in otherwise no space for young guys to come through.

Accurate. I’d love him back at celtic but very unrealistic

Does anyone really think he’s the answer? I know he was brilliant for us first time round but he’s only had abt 24 minutes of football this season.

Makes no sense shouting for him when the manager would never drop who is already in there.

As for Wanyama, he has been an outcast for Spurs this season. The Kenyan midfielder has made only four appearances in all competitions for Jose Mourinho’s side this season. Two of them have come in the Premier League, with one coming in the Champions League against Bayern Munich. He has started only one game and that came in the club’s League Cup defeat away to Colchester.
Wanyama joined Spurs from Southampton in the summer of 2016 for a fee of £11million. His best season for the club was the 2016-17 campaign, which saw Wanyama play 47 games in all competitions. He scored once, assisting five times. For Celtic, Wanyama had played 91 times in all competitions and scored 13 times, assisting nine times.
What do we think?
Celtic need depth in defensive midfield, considering how Scott Brown is their only proper defensive midfielder. Nir Bitton is also an option but he is a centre-back before being a midfielder. Wanyama has been at the club and would not say ‘no’ to a potential move to Parkhead.
