Some Celtic fans have made it clear that they want to see the club hand regular first-team football to young winger Daniel Arzani as soon as possible for the Hoops.

As things stand, Celtic have James Forrest as the first-choice right-winger, with many options on the left-wing too. Mikey Johnston has played on the left, with Mohamed Elyounoussi also playing in that position before his injury.

Arzani isn’t a first-team player yet and the Hoops twitter handle have posted a birthday message for the Australian recently.

Celtic fans: Can Arzani play for the first-team?

He deserves a go

He deserves a go

We have better players

We have better players

Some Hoops fans have made it clear that they are desperate to see him get first-team football as soon as possible, after reacting to the post.

Arzani is already a first-team player for the Australian national team since making debut early in 2018 and since then, he has made a total of six appearances for the nation’s first-team.

He joined the club from Aussie side Melbourne City FC in the summer of 2018 on a loan deal but is going to join Premier League champions Manchester City in the summer of 2020 after his spell at Parkhead ends.

This season, he is yet to make a first-team appearance for the club. He sustained a serious ACL injury in October of 2018 but had made a first-team appearance for the side in the 2017-18 season.

For Melbourne, Arzani had made 24 appearances in all competitions for the club throughout his stay at the side. He racked up a tally of two goals and three assists during his stay there.

What do we think?

Unfortunately, Arzani’s development hasn’t gone as it was planned. The ACL injury has all but crippled many of the hopes that people had. It is always tough to get back from a major injury like that and there seems to be no place in the first-team for him.
