Aston Villa fans have been discussing Scott Hogan’s future at the club on Twitter.
This comes after Villa fan Twitter account @villareport shared a post on their page relaying information originally published by Gregg Evans that Hogan “will return from Stoke City and be loaned out elsewhere” this month.
Should Scott Hogan be given a chance to play for Villa this season?
Yes, give him a chance
No, get him out
This post then gathered several replies from Villa fans who were eager to share their thoughts on Hogan and his future at the club.
Here’s a sample of Villa fans reacting to the post about Hogan:
He would at least be a option, Davis still aint 100% Kodjia looks disinterested. Least Hogan tried!! Id keep him in squad. #avfc

We never played the right type of football for hogan. Maybe in a 5 at the back and playing with jack and maybe Bowen with his mobility and runs he might be a different players. Certainly no worse than what we currently have

The centre-forward left Villa at the start of the season to join Championship side Stoke City on a season-long loan deal (per TransferMarkt). But after only managing to score two goals in 15 appearances for the club, he will now return to Villa and likely to move to another club on loan for the remainder of the season. Some Villa fans now think that Hogan should be given a chance to play for Villa in place of the injured Wesley.
I’d actually keep Hogan bec his style of play is a contrast to the big and slow forwards Dean S. seems to like. Nothing wrong with having a smaller speedy forward that moves and makes darting runs. I’d actually like to see Hogan play with another striker in a 2 man forward system

He’s lacking so much confidence and needs to get back to basics. He needs to play games not sit on the bench for us!

I’d give Hogan a chance…. He might just fancy a crack at the premiership!

What do we think?
It’s good to see this many Villa fans have faith in Hogan to want him to get a chance to play the rest of the season back at Villa Park. But with his less than amazing record at Stoke in the first half of the season, he will need to step his game up to make an impact at Villa.
