Aston Villa fans have been tweeting their delight over the latest piece of transfer news.
This comes after Villa fan Twitter account @villareport shared a post on their page relaying information originally shared by Villa journalist Gregg Evans who claimed that “Matija Šarki? will be recalled from his loan spell at Livingston.”
Should Villa recall Sarkic to replace Heaton?
Yes
No
This post then gathered many replies from Villa fans who were pleased to hear this news.
Here’s a sample of Villa fans reacting to the post:
This is good news. Rather play him than Kali or buy Butland

I actually really like Matija, he’s been good for livingstone and he’s a good little keeper

Agreed! He’s been a good keeper at Livingston hopefully steps up and fights for that number 1 with Nyland

This comes after first-choice goalkeeper Tom Heaton picked up a season-ending injury in Villa’s 2-1 victory against Burnley on Wednesday. Šarkic joined the Scottish club on a season-long loan deal at the beginning of the season.
Since then, the 22-year-old has made 18 appearances for the club, keeping seven clean sheets in the process (per TransferMarkt). Now that news he will be returning to Villa to replace the injured Heaton, many Villa fans have been sharing their joy over his return on Twitter.

What do we think?
It’s great to see so many Villa fans overjoyed by Šarkic’s return. That goes to show that the Villa fans have faith in him to do the job to replace Heaton if he gets called into action by Dean Smith, but he’ll need to be at his best if he is to help keep the Villans in the Premier League from here on in.
