The Englishman spent the first half of the season on loan at Burnley, making just one appearance (per TransferMarkt). Despite not having many playing minutes under his belt so far this season, some Villa fans have been getting behind the midfielder on Twitter to welcome him to their club.
Good luck Danny. This is the biggest club you’ve ever played for so the stage is set for you.

Anyone else happy with this signing? Or is it just me? Clearly got PL experience and if Deano can get him back to his best then it’s a masterstroke, look what happened with Mings…

What do we think?
With first-choice midfielder John McGinn sidelined with an injury, Drinkwater could turn out to be just what Villa need to fill the hole left by the Scottish international.
