Some Southampton fans have been raving about the impact Stuart Armstrong has had at the club in the recent turn of fortunes for the side.
The Saints have now won six of their last seven Premier League games and recently managed to beat Crystal Palace 2-0 at Selhurst Park. The game saw Nathan Redmond and midfielder Armstrong score to take Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men up to ninth in the table.
Is Stuart Armstrong underrated?
He deserves more credit
He gets enough of credit
A Saints fan called Luke Osman posted about Armstrong recently and it got many Southampton fans praising the former Celtic midfielder about his contributions.
#SaintsFC have lost only 3?? #PL games with Stuart Armstrong in the starting line-up this season.
He's really quite good, and the £7m price tag is looking more and more like a bargain with every game that passes.

Top player. Obviously good going forward but he has added so much defensively. The press works better with Armstrong

He is why we’re winning the work rate and link up play between midfield and forwards is brilliant. He was the architect for the great goal against Chelsea, absolute bargain. #saintsfc

Good read Luke, glad to see that Armstrong is getting his due recognition. It was surprising that he didn’t get his starting bearth sooner given the poor results we had had.
More goals and MOTM moments to come & I’m expecting more over the next couple of years.#saintsfc— Saint Aidan (@aidanrudd) January 22, 2020
Technically he gives so much more to the team when he starts, what a difference he’s made & he’s absolutely solid as a rock and one of the first names on the team-sheet for me.

He drives us forward. So good recently.

Armstrong joined Southampton from Scottish giants Celtic in the summer of 2018 for a fee that was understood to be worth £7m.
So far this season, the Scottish midfielder has made 20 appearances in all competitions for the Saints. He has played 18 Premier League games and has scored twice. One goal came against the Eagles, while another one came against Leicester City two weeks ago.
Last season, the 27-year-old made 32 appearances in all competitions. He got four goals and two assists. Three of his goals came in the Premier League. He scored a brace against Fulham, also scoring against Manchester United.
What do we think?
As per WhoScored, Armstrong has had some good performances in recent weeks. He received a rating of 7.94 against Palace, getting 8.15 against the Foxes and getting 7.37 against Chelsea. It shows how he has been an impact-maker in the ongoing spell. The praise is truly well deserved.
