A lot of Wolverhampton Wanderers fans are unhappy to see that Paul Tierney has been appointed as the referee for the Old Gold’s upcoming Premier League game with Manchester United, which was announced by the Premier League.
Mike Dean will be the VAR official which has also annoyed these Wolves fans.
Does it matter who is in charge of the match?
Yes
No
Tierney has been in charge of only one Old Gold match this season, and Wolves won 2-0.
The 39-year-old has dished out 52 yellow cards and three red cards this year.
However, maybe the Wolves fans are more annoyed about Mike Dean featuring as the VAR official.
Certainly, it has not gone down well on Twitter with these Wolves fans.
Paul Tierney has been appointed referee of Wolves’ away match versus Manchester United.

Personally don’t think he’s that bad. If it was Stuart Atwell then it would be different ?

What do we think?
Dean is one of the most controversial referees in the top-flight, and this season he has been in charge of none of Wolves’ matches. Although, he was the fourth official when Wolves controversially lost to Liverpool in December, with Pedro Neto’s goal being ruled out by VAR.
However, that has still not stopped these Old Gold supporters not wanting Dean to be involved in their match at all.
This season he has handed out 80 yellow cards and six red cards, so Wolves might have to be careful with the 51-year-old on VAR duty.
