Wolves: Supporters slam Joao Moutinho following Watford defeat

Supporters of Wolverhampton Wanderers have slammed Joao Moutinho following the 2-1 defeat against Watford on New Year’s Day.

After the loss, Tim Spiers tweeted some stats which were intended to praise the Portuguese middleman but mentioned that he needed a rest (per Tim Spiers), which some supporters agreed with but others slated his performance.

What do we think?

You have to imagine the shout to sell the world-class midfielder was written in jest, as with the standards that the Portuguese maestro has been consistently setting this term, it was just a performance that fell a little short of expectations. Although, WhoScored gave him a rating of 7.11, so perhaps fans are being a bit too harsh.

With the continued involvement in the Europa League and a hectic festive schedule in the Premier League a lot of supporters, and Tim Spiers, are correct in their assessment that the 33-year-old needs a rest.
