Wolverhampton Wanderers were knocked out of the FA Cup by Manchester United at Old Trafford on Wednesday night, and although Nuno Espirito Santo’s side still have plenty to focus on this season, the supporters were concerned by Raul Jimenez’s display.
The Mexican didn’t have his best game in a Wolves shirt and that’s reflected by a performance rating of 6.3/10 awarded to him by WhoScored.com.
The fans took to social media to express their concerns regarding the 28-year-old.
Have Wolves left themselves short by allowing Cutrone to leave?
Yes
No
Couldn’t agree more! Looked absolutely exhausted Cutrone should have been playing both games until we had his replacement. Jimenez shouldn’t have even travelled with the team!

Italian league is not of a high standard, it’s not what it used to be.
Jiminez needs a holiday, sign Andre Gray. Bring him home.

People say he would get into a top 4 side. Not for me sorry no where near a good enough finisher, looks either injured or uninterested at times

Jimenez is missing a fully fit Jota.

What do we think?
Wolves were always going to find this season difficult having qualified for the Europa League. Balancing domestic and European competition can prove challenging particularly when you haven’t got the squad size some of the traditional Premier League heavyweights have. Perhaps it makes it even more frustrating that the club have allowed Patrick Cutrone to return to Italy without signing a replacement as of yet.
The criticism directed towards Jimenez evidences how reliant the West-Midlands club have become on the former Atletico Madrid and Benfica striker. He’s going through a difficult period at present but in terms of his season overall, the numbers read well.
He’s scored 17 goals in 34 appearances in all competitions so far, therefore, the supporters should remain patient and can do so with the confidence he’ll rediscover his best form in time to help the club achieve their goals.
