Supporters of Wolverhampton Wanderers have reacted to Tim Spiers’ update that the club is interested in signing Nelson Oliveira from AEK Athens.
According to the Athletic reporter, ‘talks have taken place’ for the Old Gold to sign the striker (as per Tim Spiers), which had some fans delighted to see a potential striker coming in.
I'm told that talks have taken place over signing AEK Athens' Portuguese striker Nelson Oliveira.
Wolves have looked at him before when he was with Norwich. Scored 9 in 15 in the Greek league this season. Aged 28, 6ft 1in, could be an ideal back-up to Jimenez.

Wouldn’t be against this one at the right price.

Would be a decent signing right now

Let Campana settle till summer in U23’s with Oliveira on the cheap for remainder of season. Happy with it.

Would you be happy to have Nelson Oliveira as a backup option to Raul Jimenez?Yes, he would do a decent jobNo, we need better than him |
This term, the 28-year-old striker has scored ten goals and has six assists in 20 games in all competitions for his Greek club (as per Transfermarkt).
Despite his strong return with direct goal involvements, some supporters were not too keen on the move for the former Norwich City man and some doubted the existence of the link at all.
This rumour I don’t believe. We been looking at a forward who is playing in Greece from Portugal. Percy found out it was Podence. Another Greek newspaper guessed at Oliviera. He hardly played for 18 months at Norwich, just started to play, now wants to come and sit on the bench?!

Oliveira was awful at Narwich. DF got rid quickly. Hoping this is just another poor media link with Uncle Jorge.

A little underwhelming to be honest.

What do we think?
While it can be understandable that Wolves fans do not want a striker that scored only one goal in ten appearances in the Premier League (as per Transfermarkt), the Old Gold need backup after Patrick Cutrone‘s and Rafa Mir‘s departures.
With 16 goal involvements in all competitions for AEK Athens in 20 games so far this term, however, Oliveira could certainly provide the backup option that is required.
