West Ham United fans have flocked to Twitter to respond to the latest transfer update on goalkeeper Roberto.
This comes after the official West Ham Twitter account shared a post on their page announcing the Spaniard’s departure from the club.
The post also contained an article from the official West Ham website revealing the ‘keeper has joined Spanish Primera Division club Deportivo Alaves on loan until the end of the current season.
Are you glad Roberto has left the club?
Yes
No
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Hammers fans who were eager to share their thoughts on this latest move.
Here’s a sample of West Ham fans reacting to the post:
… and breathe. I’d rather stick an outfield player in and play rush goalie than see him on the pitch again. How we managed to find anywhere to offload him I’ll never know, let’s just be thankful that we did.

The Spanish ‘keeper conceded 21 goals in 10 appearances for the East-London club in all competitions so far this season (per Transfermarkt). Now that Roberto has left the club until the end of the season, a number of Hammers fans have been jumping for joy on Twitter that he will not be making another appearance for the club this season.
Blimey. How bad must Alaves’ keeper be if they’ve resorted to him. I try not to be too harsh, but he really is poor.

Don’t rush back

The worst player ever to play for West Ham in the history of the football club and the catalyst for our relegation in May.

What do we think?
It’s a shame to see so many West Ham fans being so happy that Roberto has left the club, even if it is just on a temporary basis for now. But with the number of goals he conceded in his brief spell in the team earlier on this season, it’s no surprise that he didn’t win over many fans. The best thing for him now would be to regain his confidence back in Spain and hope things work out better for him there.
