West Ham United: Fans fume as journalist relays post-match quotes from David Moyes

Fans of West Ham United have fumed over some post-match quotes which were relayed by Sam Inkersole after the 2-0 defeat to Liverpool.

On Wednesday evening, the journalist relayed quotes from the Scotsman in which he launched a ‘passionate defence’ of Manuel Lanzini despite the Argentine delivering a 4/10 performance (per football.london), which had fans furious.

Was it a mistake for the Hammers to re-appoint David Moyes as manager?

Since the former Manchester United manager’s return to the London Stadium (via BBC), the Hammers have won two, drawn one and lost four (as per BBC).

Having picked up only one point in the last 12 available (per BBC), the London club is left just above the division’s bottom three, out only on goal difference (per Sky Sports), which left fans furious with Moyes.

What do we think?

While it was clear that Lanzini had a poor game due to his weak player rating (as per football.london) there is little else that Moyes could say having only been in his post for around a month.

However, on this occasion, it would likely have been better for the Scot to not say anything at all that would rile fans up while they are, understandably, so frustrated.
