Spurs fans were excited to hear that Oliver Skipp may well be sent out on loan this month.
According to the Athletic (via Daily Hotspur), Skipp is likely to leave the North London club on loan during the window in order to increase his game time. The 19-year-old, who is a product of the youth academy at Spurs, has made just two appearances from the bench under Jose Mourinho so could leave to ensure that his development isn’t stifled too much.
Skipp has now made 18 appearances for Spurs in total, having established himself as part of the first-team set-up under Mauricio Pochettino, who was often reticent to send out the club’s brightest young prospects on loan. However, it seems as if Mourinho does not share that philosophy, with the young midfielder likely to depart during the current window.
Should Skipp be sent out on loan in January?

This is good – Foyth and KWP should also be loaned out so they can get some proper game time and make their mistakes elsewhere

These Spurs fans are clearly delighted that Skipp may be getting some game time and will hope to see him come back a much more experienced player.
What do we think?
Skipp is perhaps not ready for the Premier League, so a loan to a top Championship side where he could get regular game time looks to be the best option for the 19-year-old. There’s no reason why if he performs well out on loan that he can’t force his way into Mourinho’s plans for next season.
