Spurs fans were devastated to hear that Harry Kane is now expected to be out injured until April, with the striker needing surgery to repair a ruptured tendon in his hamstring.
It was confirmed by the club on their twitter that the England striker will miss the next three months of Premier League action; meaning the 26-year-old will miss Spurs’ tie against RB Leipzig in the Champions League next month. Kane suffered the injury on New Year’s Day in the defeat by Southampton, following the brutal run of festive fixtures in which he played 90 minutes of every game.
Kane has been in excellent form so far this season; hitting 30 goals in all competitions for club and country and will, therefore, be a huge miss for Jose Mourinho as he looks to push Spurs into the top four spots. The North London club have paid the price for failing to sign a back-up striker to Kane, following Fernando Llorente’s exit over the summer and it now looks as if Mourinho will be forced to bring in a replacement in this month’s transfer window.
Can Spurs still finish in the top four without Kane?
Yes
No
Reaction from Spurs fans to the Kane injury update can be seen in the tweets below.
That’s what happens when you have 1 striker and flog him. I look forward to the club propaganda about how we’ll be fine without him, and we have lots of opinions up front. Sick of spending a fortune to watch this club try and do it on the cheap.

This club is a laughing stock. We’re virtually imploding and Levy appears to be sitting back oblivious to it. Absolute disgrace.

And levy thinks that jose can land 4th and a trophy…. heads up Danny boy, jose is a great manager, but sadly not a miracle worker!!! You let our managers and fans down….you are a disgrace, probably the worst chairman in our history!

Disaster. Season over. Sort it out and fork out like a true club Levy. This is not going to get any better. No doubt it’s easy to blame Mourinho, prob why you got him in, but on the pitch(unlike of it) this has been a problem of your making!!!!

These Spurs fans are clearly devastated with the update on Kane, with many blaming Daniel Levy for failing to bring in a back-up to the England captain.
What do we think?
It is no surprise that Kane suffered an injury when you consider the amount of football he was forced to play over the festive period. The North London club showed last season in their run to the Champions League final that Lucas Moura or Heung-Min Son can fill in at striker, but you would expect Mourinho to bring in a replacement this month following the latest update on Kane.
