Spurs fans were delighted with Ryan Sessegnon’s latest comments, in which the former Fulham man revealed his aspirations to be as good as Gareth Bale.
In an interview with Sky Sports (via Hotspur Related), the 19-year-old revealed he wants to reach a similar level to Bale; whom he has received comparisons with since joining the club from Fulham in the summer. Similarly to Sessegnon, Bale started playing as a left-back, but was pushed up the pitch to great success; hitting 56 goals for Spurs before his move to Real Madrid in 2013.
Could Sessegnon be as good as Gareth Bale?

It is better to fail aiming high than to succeed aiming low. And we of Spurs have set our sights very high, so high in fact that even failure will have in it an echo of glory.

These Spurs fans were clearly delighted with Sessegnon’s comments and will be hoping to see him continue to develop in a Spurs shirt.
What do we think?
Sessegnon has shown glimpses of what he is capable of but has been forced to play further back following the injury to Ben Davies. Perhaps when he is given more chances further forward, we will start to see more of what the £31.5 million rated man can do.
