Spurs fans were full of praise for Lucas Moura after the Brazilian scored the equaliser in Sunday’s FA Cup draw with Middlesbrough.
The 27-year-old headed Jose Mourinho’s side level in the second half after an excellent cross from Serge Aurier, to ensure that Spurs will be in the draw for the fourth round. Moura was one of few bright sparks in the game at the Riverside, as the North London club nearly came unstuck against Championship opposition.
The Brazilian signed for Spurs from PSG in 2018 and has gone on to make 85 appearances for the Lilywhites, scoring on 22 occasions. Although he has been in indifferent form so far this season; averaging a 6.77 rating, he showed his importance to Mourinho by grabbing an important equaliser on Sunday, as Spurs struggled to break down Jonathan Woodgate’s side in the absence of Harry Kane.

You try so hard Lucas, you never stop running, always give 100% shame the whole team doesn’t do the same.

Great effort AGAIN Lucas. If only everyone played with the same tenacity and effort level as you we would be unbeatable.

These Spurs fans were clearly impressed with Moura’s display against Middlesbrough and will be hoping that his goal provides a confidence boost for the coming fixtures.
What do we think?
Spurs were really poor at times against Middlesbrough and rarely looked like scoring until Moura’s excellent header. The Brazilian showed what he is capable of during Spurs’ Champions League run last season, most notably in the semi-final against Ajax, so Mourinho will be hoping to get similar performances out of the £36 million rated man as he prepares for the next few months without Kane.
