Many Spurs fans were delighted to hear that the club are being linked with a move for former striker Fernando Llorente during the transfer window.

According to Italian news outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, as quoted by Goal (via Hotspur Related), the Spanish striker could leave Napoli and re-join Spurs on a six-month loan deal in this month’s transfer window. The 34-year-old joined the Italian club in the summer after his contract at Spurs expired, but he could now be set for a return to the Premier League, with Spurs lacking a striker following the hamstring injury suffered by Harry Kane.

Llorente originally joined Spurs from Swansea in 2017 and went on to make 66 appearances for the North London club; scoring 13 times. The Spaniard played an important role in Spurs’ run to the Champions League final last season; scoring the controversial but all-important tie-winning goal in the quarter-final second-leg game against Manchester City.

These Spurs fans seem rather impressed with the reported interest in Llorente and will be hoping the club looks to sign him this month.

What do we think?

Llorente has three goals for Napoli so far this season in 15 appearances but has been used primarily from the bench. The 34-year-old would certainly provide Spurs with an alternative option and if they can bring him in on loan then it should be a relatively cheap deal for the club to complete.
