These Tottenham Hotspur fans slated Eric Dier after they felt he had a poor performance against Middlesbrough on Tuesday night.
Dier’s WhoScored rating wasn’t awful, finishing the match with a 6.8/10 rating. The Englishman also completed 85% of his passes, although Harry Winks topped that with a pass success rate of 90%.
Tottenham Hotspur started fast, scoring in just two minutes to quickly go 1-0 up thanks to a goal from Giovani Lo Celso. Eric Lamela scored the final Spurs goal, which was just enough to see them survive a late Middlesbrough scare in the 83rd minute.
However, the Spurs faithful were far from happy with what they witnessed from the England international, with many reacting to when Jose Mourinho decided to substitute him in the final moments of the second half.
Here’s what the Tottenham fans had to say about Dier on Twitter:

Should Tottenham Hotspur sell Eric Dier?
Yes
No
So far this season, Dier, who is valued at £27 million (as per Transfermarkt), has averaged a WhoScored rating of 6.63/10 in the Premier League. Which again, isn’t awful but it’s just not great.
These Tottenham fans clearly weren’t happy with the way the midfielder played against Middlesbrough, but thankfully for them, they got away with it.
Dier is done. How many more times do we need to see him?

He’s so overweight and low on confidence

Sad to say Dier not up to it…we need better @thfc

What Do We Think?
We feel like this was just a typical FA Cup match against a Championship team, who were always going to try and upset the odds against a much bigger side. Selling Dier, as some of the fans above appeared to suggest, might be a little bit over the top, considering that the midfielder wasn’t even the worst rated player in the match against Middlesbrough.
