Spurs fans were disappointed with Jose Mourinho’s comments on the possibility of bringing in a striker following their 0-0 draw with Watford on Saturday.
The Portuguese manager spoke to the press at Vicarage Road after the stalemate and was asked about Spurs buying a striker during this month’s transfer window. He replied: “If possible yes, if not no. We all want the best for the club but it has to be when it’s possible & right. This is not the last match of Tottenham history, we have another on Wednesday and many next season. We must be calm” (via Alasdair Gold).
Spurs are without star striker Harry Kane after the England man tore his hamstring during the New Year’s Day defeat against Southampton and the North London club are yet to score in the Premier League since he was substituted that day. Mourinho’s side have been linked with a host of strikers but with the transfer window over halfway done, they are yet to bring in a forward.
Do you think Spurs will sign a striker this month?
Yes
No
Reaction from Spurs fans to Mourinho’s quotes can be seen in the tweets below.
I don’t get this ‘if possible’ it is possible, spend the money and it’s done, it’s literally that simple. We aren’t going to get our first choice but there’s plenty of good strikers available now who would do a good job here. Piatek & Alcacer are 2..

So this is practically Daniel Levy’s words….AVB and Poch said the same.. if you can’t compete with the elite, sell the club to someone who can! #enicout #levyout

So already written off this season then

Seems like he’s given up on the season already. I wonder if Levy is going to issue refunds to the season ticket holders and charge again next year?

So basically he is paid a lot and has no genuine opinion until he is sacked. Embarrassing. This club is a mess

3 goals in last 5 matches. Find a way to make it possible and bring in some new blood. The offense has been utterly offensive.

These Spurs fans are clearly less than impressed with Mourinho’s quotes and feel that the club definitely needs to sign a striker this month.
What do we think?
Spurs’ lack of goals is concerning and if the club does want to push on for a top-four spot then you imagine that they will need to bring in an out-and-out striker this month.
