Christian Eriksen has been spotted ‘saluting and cheering’ the Inter fans as the deal taking him to the San Siro edges closer. The 27-year-old’s Tottenham contract was set to expire this summer, meaning he could leave North London for free at the end of the season but the two clubs have been able to agree on a reported transfer fee of £17.5m meaning he will be available to Antonio Conte immediately.
Having made it clear he was looking to begin a new challenge elsewhere, Eriksen’s relationship with the fans had broken down but considering the player is valued at £81m (as per Transfermarkt.co.uk) there will be some disappointment regarding the fee Spurs were forced to settle for.
Will Eriksen go down as a Spurs legend?
Yes
No
The Dane is set to leave having made 305 appearances for the club, scoring 69 goals and providing 89 assists. Signed from Ajax in 2013 for £12.15m, he has gone on to play 95 times for his national team.
Although the Eriksen saga has become a figure of annoyance to many of the club’s supporters over the past few months there are some who remain appreciative of what he gave to the club and wish him well ahead of his move to Serie A.
Good luck to him. I’m going to forget the last 6 months and remember all of the great years he gave us

Good for him. He’s earned a move and it was time to go. All the best, Golazo!

I thank him for what he did for us. It was him who made us tick for several seasons can only wish him well. Actually feels quite sad seeing him in Milan. ?

The only resentment I’ve had is the last few months when he’d start or be brought on as a sub&just looked like he wasn’t bothered. Wouldn’t beat the first man for a corner but would take them all, those things are just frustrating as a fan but yes he gave us a good few years

hope he does well for them ??

This breaks my heart.
A sad reminder that the players are (usually) never as Spurs as us fans are.
Good luck to him though, undoubtedly a good career move given his new weekly wage.

Gonna miss that guy, but it is time to move on.

What do we think?
The last few months aside, Christian Eriksen has been a great servant to the football club. Once the dust settles, those fans feeling hurt and disappointed by the way he went about engineering a move away will look back on his time with the Lilywhites fondly.
