Many Tottenham fans have been calling for the club to go out and bring Rangers man Jermain Defoe back to North London, which could be down to the current injury to Harry Kane.

It appears that at least for now, it is and the club have only increased the pressure on themselves by sharing footage of a trade-mark Jermain Defoe goal via their official Twitter account.

The 37-year-old currently plays his football for Steven Gerrard’s Glasgow Rangers but it would seem some fans want to see him return in order to fill the position whilst their star striker Kane recovers from a hamstring injury.

Will the club get a striker in before the end of the transfer window?

What do we think?

Kane could be back by mid-April after it emerged he was operated on by Professor Fares Haddad who is the top expert when it comes to this type of surgery.

It remains to be seen whether the club will be able to bring in a striker between now and the end of the window, but judging by the fans’ replies, it’s something they’re desperate to see happen sooner rather than later. Although, a move for the veteran Defoe is probably not something Jose Mourinho is currently considering, despite how well he is doing north of the border with Gerrard and Rangers at the moment – 15 goals in 27 matches across all competitions is some going.
