With deadline day upon us, it seems as if Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and Chelsea are all interested in signing Leicester City striker Islam Slimani.

According to FC Inter News (via Sport Witness) several Premier League clubs are interested in signing the Algerian striker, after he reiterated his desire to leave AS Monaco; with whom he has spent the first half of the season on loan at. Spurs are desperately looking to sign a striker ahead of this evening’s deadline, following the injury suffered by usual first-choice striker Harry Kane earlier this month.

Slimani’s spell in the Premier League with Leicester, as well as a previous loan spell at Newcastle, have not been the most fruitful; with the 31-year-old having scored just eight times in 39 appearances. However, his excellent start to the season with AS Monaco; where he contributed seven goals and seven assists in just 13 games, looks to have attracted the attention of some Premier League big hitters.

Who do you think Slimani will join?

TIF Tactics:

Spurs look to be in need of a striker, with just 17-year-old Troy Parrott a natural in that position in the absence of Kane. Although his previous performances in the Premier League may not look the best on paper, the Algerian international could certainly use his strong ability as a target man to work well in Jose Mourinho’s side.

It looks likely that Slimani will leave Monaco and join another club on loan, the question is whether Brendan Rodgers will be willing to send him out to a top-four rival such as Spurs, Manchester United or Chelsea.
