Spurs fans were delighted to see that the club are being linked to Manchester City right-back Joao Cancelo during this month’s transfer window.
According to El Desmarque, the North London club have been in contact with the Citizens over a potential move for the 25-year-old. The report states that the price is €60 million (£51 million).
The defender has impressed in his limited performances; averaging a 7.00 rating but he seems unable to overtake Kyle Walker as Pep Guardiola’s first-choice right-back. Spurs are perhaps in need of a right-back, with Serge Aurier and Kyle Walker-Peters both linked with moves away and Cancelo could represent a fantastic option for the North London club.
Would Cancelo be a good signing for Spurs?
Reaction from Spurs fans to the reported interest in Cancelo can be seen in the tweets below.
Perfect for that Role
because unlike Aurier he actually has an attacking output and the ability to defend.

These Spurs fans would clearly love the club to sign Cancelo and will be hoping that Mourinho can convince his Portuguese compatriot to make the move to North London this month.
What do we think?
Although Cancelo hasn’t been getting much game time, City signed him for a hefty fee in the summer, so it would be a surprise to see him leave so soon, especially to a Premier League rival. However, if Spurs could sign the £45 million rated man and he showed the sort of form he showed at Juventus, then he could be a very good signing indeed.
