Spurs fans were delighted to hear that the club have reportedly made an offer for Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumare, although the 20-year-old is reluctant to leave this month.
According to Monday’s edition of French newspaper L’Equipe, as quoted by Sport Witness, the North London club have made an offer for the midfielder, although it seems unlikely that he will leave the French side during this month’s transfer window. The report suggests that Newcastle United and Wolves have also made offers for the young midfielder, who has established himself in the Lille starting eleven this season; making 25 appearances in all competitions.
Spurs have already secured the loan signing of young midfielder Gedson Fernandes during this month’s transfer window, but it seems as if Mourinho wants a more defensive-minded midfielder to replace Moussa Sissoko; who has been ruled out until April through injury.
Should Spurs try and sign Soumare this month?

If he’s available, get the guy. It’s all about building a quality squad anyways.

Long term this is the critical position we have to fill with real quality, we have winks and Ndombele, need to add that specialist DCM so we start controlling games much more than we are now

Don’t think he is quite an out and out holding midfielder but from what I’ve seen closest thing to Mousa Dembele in terms of strength and ball carrying. Should pay whatever to make it happen.

PLEASE he plays like Moussa Dembelle

These Spurs fans are happy to see the club have reportedly made an offer for Soumare, with some fans comparing the youngster to former Spurs man Mousa Dembele; who made 249 appearances for the North London club before making the move to China last January.
What do we think?
Spurs arguably need a striker more than anything this transfer window so perhaps they should focus their time and money on signing a replacement for the injured Harry Kane rather than the Frenchman this month, especially with him having stated that he wants to stay with Lille.
