Spurs fans were relieved to hear that Harry Winks left the stadium in trainers rather than a protective boot after coming off injured during the 2-1 win over Norwich City on Wednesday night.
Winks was replaced by Eric Dier in the second half against Daniel Farke’s side after limping down the tunnel but it seems as if the injury is not as bad as first feared. Alasdair Gold relayed the news to fans on Twitter, revealing that Mourinho believes it will be “weeks rather than months” until the England international is back in action.
The 23-year-old has struggled to impress for Spurs so far this season; averaging a disappointing 6.53 rating for his performances in the Premier League. The midfielder has just recently found himself back in the Spurs starting line-up, following injuries to Tanguy Ndombele and Moussa Sissoko, but it now looks as if he is set for a spell on the sidelines.
Who should start instead of Winks on Saturday?
Tanguy Ndombele
Gedson Fernandes
Eric Dier

These Spurs fans were clearly relieved to hear the news on Winks, although some took a more pessimistic outlook and argued that he could be out for longer than expected.
What do we think?
It is good news for Spurs that Winks’ injury doesn’t look too serious but this may well present loan signing Gedson Fernandes with an opportunity to make his first start for the club against Southampton on Saturday.
