Spurs fans were less than impressed to hear that Christian Eriksen will likely feature for Jose Mourinho’s side in their game against Watford on Saturday.
Mourinho revealed in his pre-match conference (via Alasdair Gold) that the 27-year-old would play a part against Nigel Pearson’s side, despite him reportedly on the brink of a move to Inter. The Danish international has continued to feature under Mourinho despite his ongoing transfer situation and looks set to depart the North London club this month.
When asked about the former Ajax man, the Portuguese manager said: “I think he’s trying to do his best, and I think it’s normal that until January 31st his brain is not totally in focus. I think it’s a normal consequence of the situation, and if I am a player and I’m reading every day and probably I’m having information about that optimism that you are speaking about.
“I think it’s normal that a player doesn’t know very well what is going on, but I still don’t understand why that optimism because in this moment for a few matches people are speaking about is Eriksen going? Eriksen played his last match for the club, and the situation didn’t change, Eriksen plays tomorrow.” (via Football.London)

No idea why he plays. Lamela, GLC and Dele all have to be ahead of him surely?

Not totally in focus but lets start him

It’s not normal. Other players have gave all with there clubs before they move on. It’s unprofessional and his letting the club the team and fans down. Poor

These Spurs fans are clearly a little confused by Mourinho’s plans to play Eriksen, despite admitting that he is not fully focused.
What do we think?
This may well end up being Eriksen’s last ever game in a Spurs shirt but if he is not focused then it seems strange to play him from the start, although Mourinho may well just be trying to confuse the opposition.
