Spurs fans were delighted to hear Japhet Tanganga’s comments following the 2-1 win over Middlesbrough in the FA Cup on Tuesday night.
The 20-year-old told the Guardian (via TranSPURS) that he was more than happy to fill in at right-back against Jonathan Woodgate’s side, saying: “I haven’t played right-back for a while but if the manager needs me to do a job – left-back, right-back, midfield – I’ll do it, I’m comfortable on the ball, I’m comfortable doing a job wherever the manager needs me. I want to work for the team.”
The England Under-20 international was making just his third Spurs appearance during the win over Middlesbrough and once again impressed; earning an 8/10 rating from Football.London. Tanganga replaced Serge Aurier for the game against the Championship side and after a strong performance, Spurs fans were delighted to hear the youngster’s post-match comments.

These Spurs fans were clearly delighted with Tanganga’s comments and will be hoping to see a lot more of the youngster in the next few weeks.
What do we think?
It is great to see Tanganga, who is valued at £725k (as per Transfermarkt), offering so much to Spurs having barely featured in the first-team earlier in the season. The 20-year-old was touted for big things when he impressed during Spurs’ pre-season and looks to already be repaying Mourinho’s faith in him.
