Some Southampton fans have been discussing the transfer news involving their players Oriol Romeu and Sofiane Boufal.
A Spanish outlet called Faro de Vigo has reported recently that Celta are eyeing moves for both Boufal and Romeu. The club is looking to add depth and quality in midfield and in wide areas, making them possibly testing the waters for the two Southampton players this very month.
Who should leave: Boufal or Romeu?
Boufal isn't good enough
Get some money off Romeu
A Saints-related Twitter handle called SouthamptonPage relayed this news and it got many fans talking. They were left to discuss the news and give their opinions about it.

Neither should be leaving this window. We need as many players as possible to get us over the line IMO.

Romeu is crucial, just because he doesn’t play first team football doesn’t mean that he’s expendable. When we are on the front foot in a game we bring him on to solidify our lead

However, there are a few fans that think Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side can do without the pair and should look to cash in on them whilst there is some alleged interest.
sell both and bring in a player that’s an improvement on what we have.

Boufal is a former Celta player himself. He was on loan at the club last season, having made 35 appearances in all competitions for the club. He racked up a tally of three goals and a total of four assists too.
This season, the 26-year-old winger has made 17 appearances in all competitions for the Saints and is yet to score a single goal. But he does have a tally of two assists to his name.
As for Romeu, he has been a regular in defensive midfield this season, albeit from the bench more recently. He has made 22 appearances in all competitions.
Since joining the club in the summer of 2015 for a fee of £5 million, he has made as many as 176 times in all competitions. He has scored only five times, assisting twice too.
What do we think?
With half of the season to go, Southampton are aiming for a mid-table finish. They can’t afford to lose any players in the middle of the season, let alone Boufal and Romeu. It should be very much out of the question, as the fans above make crystal clear.
